Sleepover Host – SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth

Location: Great Yarmouth, Norfolk

Job Scope:

Deliver an unforgettable after-hours experience by hosting and managing sleepover events for visiting groups. You’ll lead the full overnight experience, from hosting talks and supervising guests to ensuring safety and smooth operations throughout the night.

 

This is a fixed-term 12 month contract, part-time role (10 hours per week), with shifts typically 6:00pm–6:00am, including weekends, school holidays, and bank holidays. Full training (including First Aid) and a DBS check will be provided.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main host and point of contact for sleepover groups, creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Supervise all elements of the event, including guests, team members, and group leaders.
  • Conduct regular overnight building and safety checks to maintain a secure environment.
  • Handle guest queries or incidents professionally and efficiently.
  • Communicate clearly with group leaders and other departments.
  • Support event preparation and post-event clean-up as required.
  • Represent SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth and Merlin Entertainments with enthusiasm and professionalism.
  • Occasional daytime shifts may be required.

 

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Experience in a guest-facing or customer service role preferred.
  • First Aid qualification beneficial (training provided).
  • Experience working with children or school groups desirable.
  • Confident working independently and managing small teams.
  • Friendly, enthusiastic, and able to create memorable guest experiences.
  • Calm, responsible, and reliable under pressure.
  • Organised, self-motivated, and able to manage time effectively.
  • Strong communicator and positive team player.
  • Confident decision-maker with a proactive approach.

 

Health & Safety:

Employees must follow all Group Health & Safety policies (HS001), use only trained equipment, and report any incidents promptly to management. Cooperation in investigations and maintaining a safe environment for colleagues and guests is essential.
