In this role, you’ll support the Wardrobe Manager to ensure our Welcome and Uniform areas run smoothly every day. As the first point of contact for business visitors and VIP guests, you’ll offer a warm, professional welcome while making sure uniform standards and site security procedures are upheld. You’ll provide outstanding service to both staff and guests, using your knowledge of the park and its operations to answer questions and give helpful advice—helping everyone start their day right.
 

Job Purpose

  • Monitoring site access through the business reception ensuring all staff, business visitors and contractors have approved ID or have followed the sign in procedure.
  • Take responsibility for the allocated administrative tasks for the Uniform Services team and ensure that all paperwork is organised and completed to set deadlines.
  • Learn and support with all basic team functions and provide front line support when required.
  • Administrative tasks relating to the daily running of the uniform and welcome area including internal and external mail.
  • Assisting guests with any ticketing queries, complaints and upselling when required.
  • Maintaining the uniform standards for the resort by taking appropriate action when required.
  • Ensure items of uniform and staff ID cards are issued to employees, contractors and visitors efficiently.
  • Support the Wardrobe Manager to monitor all uniform and welcome stock, supporting the ordering of these items where required.
  • Support the allocation of lockers; ensuring all keys are organised and reconciled at the end of each season.
  • Oversee the locker room and changing rooms to ensure a safe clean environment.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

 Operations

  • Respond/complete all enquiries/tasks within the agreed time frame with actions and updates.
  • Keep the department Supervisors up to date with current workload.
  • Resolve issues that arise on the day within the uniform and welcome area via till operation.
  • Printing / photocopying and preparation of all materials required within the department.
  • Ensure the welcome and uniform areas are kept clean and well stocked.
  • Any other Administrative or Operational duties as required by the management team, which may be on an ad hoc basis.
  • Ensure staff have been issued the correct uniform and meeting the required standards and that the uniform and welcome area is run effectively and efficiently.
  • Supporting the guest experience team when required with guest feedback via the Avius email system.
  • Managing the visitors that are attending the park and ensuring the visitor process is always followed to ensure full compliance with profit protection requirements.
  • Monitoring site access through the business reception ensuring all staff, business visitors and contractors have appropriate ID or have followed the sign in procedure.
  • Confidently use the telephone and radio to communicate effectively with staff across the resort as required.
  • Prepare and deliver the staff welcomes bundles and uniform.
  • Ensuring all our VIP guests and Business Visitors are warmly welcomed, and a high standard of customer service is delivered to them.
  • Working alongside marketing, Front of House and guest experience to ensure the schools process is seamless.
  • Have high standards in regard to the safety and quality of uniform which is distributed.
  • Ensure all contractor and third-party companies are aware of our Uniform standards and the process in regard to collecting and returning uniform
  • Effective communication skills across all departments.
  • To ensure all areas of the welcome department are kept in a safe, clean and tidy environment at all times.
  • Manage the washing loads daily, ensuring all aprons, Entertainments costume, and high-vis jackets are clean and ready for operation.

 

  Marketing

  • To ensure all communication with employees and guests is always professional and as per training and brand guidelines.
  • Develops and maintains good up to date knowledge of THORPE PARK Resort ticket types, promotions and Merlin Attractions, actively promoting and looking for opportunities to up sell the same or develop our offering.
  • To stay in line with our brand to ensure all team members have the appropriate equipment to keep them looking smart and presentable at all times.
  • Support Marketing/HR/GEX with any tasks they require to support resort engagement.

 

 Health & Safety

  • Managing the site access pass process and giving support with control of contractors.
  • Taking ownership of all compliance related issues and raising with the relevant person if needed.
  • To follow the department's Health and Safety policies and COSHH to create a safe working environment.

 

 Financial

  • To be fully compliant in all cash handling and profit protection procedures.
  • Manage the welcome and uniform area stock alongside the department supervisors.
  • Ensure all staff uniform and ID cards are returned.
  • Ensuring allocated resources and uniform are utilised to maximise efficiency whilst adhering to budget.
  • Support the stock inventory/control system to aid the ordering of new stock and to also monitor and manage the value of stock we are holding at any one time.
  • Conduct regular stock takes to provide up to date information for ordering to the manager.

Additional Considerations

In particular, they must ensure that they follow safe working procedures for all work activities that they undertake, and they must not use any tools or equipment for which they have not been trained.  Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are reported to their line manager and must cooperate with any investigation as appropriate.
