Please note this is a fixed term Contract with a minimum of 10 hours per week

 

JOB SCOPE
 
You will deliver educational and entertaining talks, both on a presenting and one to one form, helping guests discover and learn about our creatures and inspiring a love for conserving the Ocean. To help ensure the artistic running of the Performance department and maintaining exceptionally high theatrical performance standards. You will be the face of Sealife, answering questions about our animals with the help of our Aquarist team and be an ambassador for the SEALIFE Trust. You will remain Guest obsessed in this position searching for opportunities to interact and inspire a new generation of Ocean Protectors. 
 
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
 
• Deliver outstanding structured and educational talks and 121s to a variety of different guests, making sure everyone         has a tailored and outstanding experience.
 
• The ability to deliver scripted shows and 121s on rotation keeping up stamina and energy. 
 
• Create an environment where guests feel free to play, experiment and have fun.
 
• Help our guests build confidence by encouragement, gamification and rewards so they want to discover more.
 
• To be the face of SEALIFE and the SEALIFE Trust, being approachable and enthusiastic whilst inspiring amazing              discoveries.
 
 
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Guest Experience & Communication
 
• Deliver site-specific scripted shows in a fun, engaging, and informative manner, ensuring all content complies with Zoo       Licensing regulations.
 
• Create a welcoming, inclusive, and memorable experience for all guests and colleagues.
 
• Promote the work and values of the SEA LIFE Trust and inspire guests to care for ocean conservation.
 
• Act as a brand ambassador for SEA LIFE, maintaining character performance (Rockpool Explorer) and brand consistency.
 
• Engage confidently with guests, answering questions and enhancing their overall visit.
 
• Act as a point of contact between guests and management, escalating health and safety concerns when required.
 
Performance & Development
 
• Maintain high standards of live, interactive theatrical performance.
 
• Attend and contribute to rehearsals, workshops, training sessions, and departmental meetings.
 
• Support the development of new ideas, themes, and performance concepts.
 
• Be prepared for daily operations, including attending morning briefings prior to opening.
  Operational Standards
 
• Follow show scripts, timings, and performance guidelines as outlined in show specification sheets.
 
• Care for costumes, props, and technical equipment, reporting any damage or faults promptly.
 
• Ensure performance and show areas are clean, tidy, and presentable at all times.

 

 

 

Qualifications & Experience

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
 
• Previous performing experience
 
• Heaps of stamina and the ability to maintain an infectious energy
 
• A genuine interest and passion for marine life
 
• The confidence to deliver fun and engaging, interactive, educational, and family focused shows in character whilst             wearing a costume
 
• This is a flexi role meaning flexible availability is needed.
 
• Weekend only means weekend only needed with possible shifts in peak times
 
 
HEALTH & SAFETY

In particular, they must ensure that they follow safe working procedures for all work activities that they undertake and they must not use any tools or equipment for which they have not been trained.  Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are reported to their line manager and must cooperate with any investigation as appropriate.”
